Its July 14th and the New York Mets find themselves with a 39-47 record and currently 12 games behind the Nationals for first place. Rumors have it now that the Houston Astros are interested in Mets ace Jacob deGrom. Now this has had many fans going crazy in the New York area asking how or why would the Mets trade deGrom. Now I’m all for trading players but a guy like deGrom you must keep around. He is arguably the best pitcher on this team especially now with the Syndergaard injury. Fans do need to calm down just a little because even if the Mets aren’t willing to trade deGrom; there is nothing wrong with listening to offers especially from a team like the Astros with a great farm system.
